  • BEST Peer Mentor
Hi everyone! I'm a senior double majoring in biology and environmental science with a minor in women and gender studies from West Des Moines, IA. After graduation, I hope to work in research focusing on sustainable agriculture. On campus, I play trombone in the ISU marching band and pep band, serve on the executive board for the biological sciences club and the environmental science club, am a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Beta Beta honor societies, and do research in the plant pathology department and the bioeconomy institute. During my summers here I've studied abroad in Valencia, Spain and worked at Ledges State Park as a seasonal interpreter. The reason I wanted to be a peer mentor is to connect with first year students and share some of my experiences at Iowa State. Interacting with other biology majors and seeing all of the unique paths people go on is definitely my favorite part of being involved with BEST.

New students can ask me about study abroad, research on campus, getting involved with BSC, and what it's like to live on campus.
