||I am focusing my biology studies in molecular biology as well as animal biology as I am pursuing a minor in Animal Science. I am planning to apply to Physical Therapy school and hope to work with kids with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
|I chose to become a peer mentor because...
||I want to help students find their niche in biology. There are so many possible career paths and it can be hard to find what's right for you! This will be my second year as a mentor and I'm so happy to be back!
||I am involved in the Honors Program as a former First-Year Honors Program Leader and current Honors Ambassador as well as being actively involved with research in Dr. Joshua Selsby's lab. Some other ways I stay involved are through Best Buddies, Run Club, Cardinal Key, the Academic Success Center as a tutor, and Biology 313L as an undergraduate TA.
|Students can ask me about...
||New students can ask me about how to get advanced biology credit for research and internships. During the summer of 2020 I interned with Nebraska Wildlife Rehabilitation and was able to receive credit for my time. I also receive credit for the research projects I complete during the school year. You can also ask me about how to get involved in Honors, ways to serve the Ames community, and how it is possible to juggle part time jobs as a full time student!
