Using Figure 14.7 in the lab manual, what descriptive terms would you use to characterize the colonies viewed in each plate?

 

Cyanobacteria
(Once called blue green algae before prokaryotic cell structure was determined.)
Sometimes in a filament of Anabaena cells, you will see one that is different. Can you locate the heterocyst in this image? It has a metabolism that allows it to fix nitrogen. (need new image)
